EAP Malaysia is starting Centre Based ABA Programmes for those families who prefer to run ABA programmes from a centre, rather than from home. Some advantages of a centre based programme include: EAP finds and hires therapists, EAP supplies materials (toys, programme stimuli and reinforcers), and EAP supervision occurs weekly.
The centre based and home based programmes are alike in many ways. Our philosophy remains the same: we want to ensure children are smiling and enjoying therapy sessions. Programming is individualized to best suit the needs of each child. The programme addresses communication, language, social skills, play skills, daily living skills, cognitive skills and academics. Therapy teams consist of 3-5 therapists and we aim for consistency across therapists by conducting overlaps and team meetings. The WEAP Senior Consultant sees the children every 6 to 8 months.
