EAP Malaysia and all affiliated companies (i.e. Wisconsin Early Autism Project, Early Autism Project Vancouver) offer Home Based ABA Programmes
for those families who prefer to run ABA programmes from their home.

Some advantages of a home based programme include:

· Typically more parental involvement in therapy; parents can be a therapist for their child as well

· Generalisation to the home can be set up easier (i.e. we can teach child to sit and eat at his / her dining room table; play with the toys at
his / her house)

· Sibling play can be incorporated easier

· Monthly costs can be decreased by the parents hiring the therapists and making materials

· Weekly contact is made with the Consultant through fortnightly team meetings and phone consultations

· The child’s therapy schedule can be more flexible

The centre based and home based programmes are alike in many ways. Our philosophy remains the same:

· We want to ensure children are smiling and enjoying therapy sessions.

· Programming is individualized to best suit the needs of each child.

· The programme addresses communication, language, social skills, play skills, daily living skills, cognitive skills and academics.

· Therapy teams consist of 3-5 therapists and we aim for consistency across therapists by conducting overlaps and team meetings.

· The WEAP Senior Consultant sees the children every 6 to 8 months.

EAP Malaysia provides two different models of consultation. Both models begin with a 9-12 hour Initial Training Workshop, but differ in intensity of follow-up supervision. EAP Malaysia offers consultation on a fortnightly basis or monthly basis (Workshop Model).
