KUALA LUMPUR: Tunku Puteri Johor Tunku Kamariah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Almarhum Sultan Iskandar today officiated the second Embrace Autism Campaign held in conjunction with the World Autism Awareness Day at Intermark Mall, here.
Speaking to reporters later, Tunku Kamariah Aminah said that more similar programmes should be held as there is still a lack of awareness on autism among the society.
“The stigma in society is that they always think that autism children are different, but in reality, some of them are more outstanding than other normal kids, therefore, this programme is vital in order to create awareness among our society,” she said.
At the launching, she was invited to join two autistic artists to paint on the stage and later visited booths displaying art works by the autistic children.
