Celebrating Easter At Home

For many around the world who celebrate Easter, Easter 2020 will be like no other – most of us will not be able to have gatherings, go to church or have Easter Egg Hunting for the kids; as we spend Easter at home, while practising social distancing.

However, even though the Covid-19 restrictions may have put a pause to Easter celebrations or activities as we traditionally know it, there is still fun to be had at home together as a family! In this article we would like to share some simple Easter activities that you and your child with autism can do at home, as we bring Easter to your homes!

Easter Activities For Your Children

Thanks to the internet, we gathered a list of activities online and compiled them into Easter Activity Packs, which include play ideas, DIY Chocolate Easter Egg activity, arts and crafts, worksheets, story videos and songs. These activities have been selected as they can be easily executed with your child, as they do not require a lot of materials and can be easily found at home. The Easter Activity Packs have also been divided into the level of difficulty according to the age and skillsets of your child:

  • Early Learners – Click here for the Easter Activity Pack!
  • Intermediate/ Advanced Learners – Click here for the Easter Activity Pack!

We hope these ideas will help keep your child occupied while learning about Easter and its traditions, as you create some fun memories together at home this Easter!

For those who celebrate Easter, Easter is a time when Christians remember the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. And just because we’re in isolation at home doesn’t mean the reason for the season has changed! If you are used to spending Easter at church, you can still tune in to church services online. Many churches have now made their services available online, whether that’s through a live stream or through a pre-recorded video. If you don’t have a regular church to go to or your church doesn’t have streaming available, feel free to check out Kingdomcity’s Easter At Home services available from 10-12 April 2020.

Blessed Easter from all of us at EAP!
