From tears and tantrums to sitting calmly for a haircut!

What once felt impossible is now a moment worth celebrating.
For him, haircuts were overwhelming – the unfamiliar environment, the sound and vibration of the trimmer, being touched around the head and ears, and having to sit still could all trigger intense distress. There were times when it took a whole team just to get through a haircut.
Through early intervention and individualised ABA therapy, he was given the time, support, and structured practice needed to gradually build tolerance and confidence. Instead of forcing him through the experience, therapy focused on breaking the process down into small, manageable steps.

Over time, these little moments of practice added up. He learned that the sounds, sensations, and routines associated with a haircut could be safe and manageable.
And today? He sat calmly in the chair and completed his haircut!
This is what early intervention can help build not just therapy-room skills, but practical skills that make everyday life more manageable and meaningful.
A haircut may seem like a small thing to some, but for him and his family, this is a massive milestone.
We are incredibly proud of how far he has come.
One step, one skill, one small win at a time.
